The fondue, thick and rich with a hint of Kirsch, perfectly envelops each cube of baguette. I do as I’m told and consume white wine only, careful not to drink water, which apparently combined with melted Gruyère and Emmenthal creates a leaden effect.

I've gone to my farm in Kentucky for the weekend. It's a great place to relax, do a little hard physical labor, and forget about the rest of the world. If you don't have such a place, I highly suggest you get one.
In the meantime, you have a week to plan for Valentine's Day. Perhaps the following story will give you some ideas.
