Roasted Cod, OMG. Did you ever wonder why those two words are so close in appearance? They are identical except for the little hook on the first letter and we know why the Maker of all fishes carries the hook...it's to catch the Cod.
Someone (I won't mention any names) recommended a trip to Stonington Borough if I was ever in this part of the world. It is a quaint, sleepy little fishing village on Stonington Harbor. The restaurant overlooks one of the boatyards.
We had a drink on the deck before dinner. The bartender knows his stuff...an experienced bartender is worth his weight in his weight.
I had clam chowder and the roasted cod. The cod was perfectly seasoned so that the flavor of the fish was not overpowered by the chef's musings.
My friend had the Bouillabaisse...the menu says it is the best in America. I have no reason to doubt that claim. It certainly looked it and they brought enough bread to the table to make sure that every drop was sopped.
The locals were friendly, the prices most reasonable, the service was everything it should be and the food...ahhh, the food was divine.
