Secluded street of shining water, resting gondolas protected in red, arched pathway beckoning from afar--the ever serene, startling Venice.

This deserves to win. It captures the dacay and the past glory along with the care (the red cloth) and reconstructive efforts (the series of restructured oval windows) along with the modern graffiti and the reflection of the water... I want ot go back there and this pictures brings me back... I can almost smell the brackish water.

It looks so serene and peaceful. It makes you want to get on the next plane and fly away for an adventure. It's beautiful!!

Wonderful! Ialso love how the round windows recede into the vanishing point.

This isn't the typical image you see in a travel brochure. No, it's a glimpse deep in the soul of a unique city, the real Venice. Kudos to the photographer.

An AMAZING picture - composition, lighting, the visual of the "street" with brick building and round windows focuses your eye to the back, only to be drawn to the front with color of the gondolas. Do to hear the laughter of the two boat owner - enjoying lunch, a glass of wine, and each other's company?
Well done

This photo is amazing, indeed! Love the contrast of old (gondolas) and new (graffiti).
