Any way you slice it, America's purchase of Alaska was one of the great land deals of all time.

I've gone to my farm in Kentucky for the weekend. It's a great place to relax, do a little hard physical labor, and forget about the rest of the world. If you don't have such a place, I highly suggest you get one.
In the meantime, here's a little something that I found for you to read with your morning coffee.
See you on Monday.

Mr. Peterman and Heiress:
I'm going to show a buyer some vacant land this weekend. It's in a hilly, semi-rural, horse-owning area of Los Angeles. Does that count?
Y'all have a great weekend!
Having 26-acres of Paradise of my own in North Carolina, I've plenty of space for lettuce of the in-ground variety, avoiding the chemical-heavy hydroponic process. Several types are already planted, along with cabbage, mustard greens, radish, leeks, and of course, peas. As I age, some of the physical labor is replaced with automation. The roto-tiller now does what I used to with a hoe by hand. The "meadow muffins" from our two horses are still forked by hand, however, and contribute generously to our tomato production. As I relax with a single malt after a physically-cleansing day in the garden, I shall raise a glass to a fellow Gentleman Farmer.
