But the young girl starring in the ad will actually be voting age next month and says she's no fan of Hillary Clinton.

Judging by the familiar campaign dialogue during the past week, it seems that our presidential candidates may have missed the Peterman's Eye post that ran February 12th about Benjamin Franklin's historic speech to the Continental Congress.
If they had logged in and read it, they might have learned that Benjamin Franklin proved that confession is not only good for the soul, it's smart politics.
With 723 simple words, he turned the concept of "changing his mind" into a virtue and persuaded a deadlocked Constitutional Convention to change their collective minds.
Namely, signing the final draft of the Constitution.
There's no telling what candidates today can accomplish by studying Franklin's methodology.
Here's the blog, "I Confess," in case Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Barack Obama and Ralph Nader change their mind and take a look.

Might we make that reading prerequisite, even, to tossing into the ring one's proverbial hat, and requisite, thererafter, daily? Without a smidgen of doubt Mr. Franklin chose words for himself; sadly, today we must include in our reading-plan writers of speeches.
Humanly, brilliantly, Franklin underscores the significance of the long view, and of how vantage alters view.
Thank you for this, JP. Who but you?
Of course most candiates today are mere political players in the realm that is American Politics. Times have changed and with that change comes the change in a nations very own citizens. Everything is much faster in today's society, faster cars, faster services, faster people... when this happens we all loose our sense of why we are even here. Even our leaders loose a sense of why they choose a career in public service. The reason why I am making this point is because when Mr. Franklin got up and spoke in front of the Continental Congress he was not pushed in what to say by a lobbyist, his press secretary or even a top dollar muliti-billion dollar corporation, cause those didn't exsist yet... he spoke on experience and a keen sense of leadership. He stood up for what he believed in and was not pressured by any other thing, besides a love of country and a determination to do the right thing. We can all take something from Mr. Franklin's wisdom, including our future leaders of this country! Even though we were fighting for our freedom and drafting the beginnings of a new nation... those were simplier times and may how times have changed!

Are we going to deal only with the election for the next eight months? I am tired of it already.
