I've gone to my farm in Kentucky for the weekend. It's a great place to relax, do a little hard physical labor, and forget about the rest of the world. If you don't have such a place, I highly suggest you get one.
In the meantime, what do you think about this recent discovery?
See you on Monday.

The heat maps would make terrific Easter eggs.
Or magnificent art.
Yes lot. Indeed. These images has the universe as a baby looking like a speckled Easter Egg. This makes me happy. I love eggs. Over easy with crispy bacon. Cadbury chocolate double yum...deviled eggs tasty & now our big old home looking all yellow/blue/orangey cool with a surprise inside like the Buster Brown prize - Us: quirky humans who think they are intelligent. Meanwhile God smiles and bands of angels are laughing among the stars.
OK, so the Universe is oval, spotty and evolved from a Jackson Pollock 'painting'. The wonder of creation is something to wonder about, not a problem to be solved. I like the is-ness of it and the changing-ness of it. In the general scheme of things, we are just guests who can do damage by being greedy, careless, disrespectful. I've stretched my brain this morning by reading Genesis Chapter 1 in Welsh. My! that God guy set planets in their orbits and doodled everything from dinosaurs to butterflies and humming birds on his I-pad. I think the mosquito and tetse fly were a mistake. Probably a result of a cold caller selling double glazing.
Yes, yes, haze, and while He doodled the butterflies and humming birds He also doodled kitty cats and puppies and roses and tulips and . . .
. . .And so much infinitely more that smoothed our way so that there are countless stars in the distance and stars right in front of us.
My, my our Falstaffian ways have made out universe fatter.
The awe of it all. Like the three of you I am amazed. Thought of the 24th Psalm which needed a little tweeking after seeing out fatter universe.
The universe is the Lord's and all that is in it,
the world and all who dwell therein.
For it is he who created it
and made it firm in the still unknown.
O Rusty~! Psalm 24! I think it was set to Bach music, Our Royal School of Church Music Choir sang the Anthem "Lift up your head, O ye gates .... that the King Of Glory may come in." The huge organ in the hall made your guts vibrate in resonance with the bass notes. How blessed we are to be gifted with music, flowers, animals, and, just now, inconvenient weather!
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh the mountains to spring with grass.
Psalm 147: 8
It is raining in southeastern Colorado! Hallelujah!
Speaking of psalms…

Perfect, Stoney.......she did like her Elvis, didn't she?
Carol and Korthal - Thank you for letting us know that one of our Villagers has passed on. Andy (Andrea V. Cohen) had many posts of humor, spirit, and talent. Her pottery and photographs entertained us for a long time. May her family find peace and comfort in good memories of her life with them. Peace unto you, Andy. As Tommy said, may she be " laughing among the stars."
Andy said...
Chef Deb ~ You said it so well. when I try to think of A
moment, I have a kaleidoscope of images in my mind......all perfect, all
beautiful. The babies, either mine or my grandchildren, are of
course so beautiful that they brought tears of happiness to my eyes -- the
miracle of that first child. My husband in so many
roles. Memorable moments can also be painful to remember and in
recent years we've had those as well. But they've been almost obliterated
by the wonderful, generous, gracious people....many surprises...... who
have come forth to offer love, support, prayers and comfort when they sensed it
was needed. And they've stayed.
We will always remember you, Miss Andy.
It could be that the universe is an oval kaleidescope held in the hands of a smiling, older, slightly fatter Maker Of All Things. It could be.
or it could be that the universe is but a drop of water,on the leg of an elephant...
and that is why you must hold onto your towel
Oh andy. Thank you for all that you gave us, which was a lot. ... March 19. That was two years to the day that geraldine also passed on. I'm sure she was there, to welcome Andy home............. I will miss you, andy.
At The Row Kitchen with their biscuits and homemade jams- blackberry/lemon/strawberry/tomato/or Red Onion Zinfadel or perhaps a dipping pot with house made crackers pimento cheese/pork potted meat/or white bean hummus and then there's the aforementioned five way deviled eggs...forced to decide went with fried green tomatoes slathered with pimento cheese and TN chow chow. Saturday's suit me fine.

Sorry to be frivolous. Just had a chance to catch up...Andy Andy Andy...missing you already is an understatement...I will catch up with you one glorious day!!! Thanks RY.
Thank you, from me too, RY. That was nice.
She was such an interesting person. I will miss her.
Paolos, your 1:46 post - thank you for that. That really was her.
I am so sorry for our loss.
Big hug, CD. BIG hug.
A mighty fine example of gentle courage and grace.
THIS TIME, when Elvis called, Andy picked up.
Oh P4- OUR TOWN stirs me so. I read for the Stage Manager all those many years ago and his lines moved me then and today- “We all know that something is eternal. And it ain’t houses and it ain’t names, and it ain’t earth, and it ain’t even the stars . . . everybody knows in their bones that something is eternal, and that something has to do with human beings. All the greatest people ever lived have been telling us that for five thousand years and yet you’d be surprised how people are always losing hold of it. There’s something way down deep that’s eternal about every human being."
TT - Thornton Wilder's play has so much to teach us about being good humans...It is the ordinary, small town values that mean so much. I used to enjoy teaching that play to 11th graders in the American Lit. unit.....Such a good drama!
Thanks for mentioning it. That last speech sums it up beautifully. (Hal Holbrook did such a great job as Stage Manager, too, and I bet you did as well.) Let us hope that the next dimension is, in fact, another adventure.
TT I loved Emily's lines as well. I can't format, so please bear with me... "Does anybody realize what life is while they're living it? - every minute? every, every minute? Oh Earth, you're too wonderful for anybody to realize you."
Ladies- Nice. Nice. Very Nice.
So, to bed and that cold,
dark and blue dream
that comes along when a friend
slips away on a moonbeam
Stage Manager, closing lines, "Our Town:" 11:00 in Grover's Corners. Everyone's resting. Tomorrow's going to be another day. You get a good rest too. Good night."
